Thomas A. Sullivan, age 78, of Ripon, went to his heavenly home on Friday, February 21, 2025 at home while surrounded by his family. Tom was born on January 26, 1947 in Berlin Hospital; the son of John and Gertrude (Siekierka) Sullivan. He grew up in Princeton, WI and graduated from Princeton High School, class of 1965. Tom was united in marriage to Barbara Ruhl on April 19, 1969 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton. He worked at Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon for 42 years in the Maintenance Department.
Tom was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Ripon, Ripon Park and Recreation board member, a founding member of the Ripon Baseball Booster Club, Ripon Medical Center board President, and former President of the United Steel Workers Local 1327 in Ripon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was “Mr. Fix-It” always working on his property in Coloma, WI planting Christmas trees and carpentry work.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; two sons: Jeff (Erin) Sullivan of Menomonie, WI, and Scott (Mandy) Sullivan of Princeton, WI; daughter, Amy (Devin) Sullivan of West Bend, WI; 4 grandchildren: Oliver, Lincoln, Bryce, and Harper; sisters-in-law: Barbara (Ray) Sullivan-Keck, and Linda Ruhl; brother-in-law, Dick (Sara) Ruhl; 11 nieces and nephews; special friends: Randy Schwandt, Rich Gorr, Greg Pollesch, Glenn Curran, and Jerry Reetz; other relatives and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Sullivan; brother, Tim Sullivan; son-in-law, Brad Huybers; brother-in-law, Tom Ruhl; and his father and mother-in-law: Verne “Muddy” and Gladys Ruhl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Tom at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon with Father Jim Leary officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10:00am until the time of the services. Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Green Lake Animal Shelter, SSM Hospice in Green Lake, or Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
