Susan M. Zabel

Susan M. Zabel, age 59, of Brandon, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at her home. Sue was born on February 16, 1962 in Waupun, WI, the daughter of James and Marie (Rivers) Docter. She graduated from Laconia High School in Rosendale, Class of 1980. She was united in marriage to Randy Zabel in May, 1989. She had a passion for her gardens, both flowers and vegetables. She loved the companionship of her cats and the birds that frequented her gardens. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and riding her ATV on the trails. 

Sue is survived by her father, James Docter; significant other, Randy Zabel; 6 siblings: Dennis (Wanda) Docter of Markesan; Richard (Lisa) Docter of Phoenix, AZ; Michael (Linda) Docter of Brandon; John (Sarah) Docter of North Fond du Lac; Tina (Randy) Halberg of Milwaukee; and Donna Docter of Milwaukee; 3 nieces, 7 nephews; 3 great nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Marie Docter; maternal grandparents: Alex and Mary Rivers; paternal grandparents: Art and Grace Docter; and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Divine Passage Funeral Home in Ripon.  A private Mass of Christian Burial for immediate family will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Ripon with Father Davis Edessary officiating.  Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Ripon.
