Sandra J. Anderson, age 88, of Ripon, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at the Ripon Senior Living in Ripon, WI. Sandy was born on February 27, 1938 in Blue Island, IL; the daughter of John and Alleen (Middleborn) Madderom. She graduated from Thornton High School, in the class of 1956.
Sandy was united in marriage to the love of her life, DeVon Anderson, on July 26, 1958, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Riverdale, Illinois. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to family and Jesus, eventually settling in Ripon in July 2017 after many cherished years in Rome on Lake Camelot and Wisconsin Rapids. Sandy had a servant’s heart, freely giving her time at the senior center. In her earlier years she worked as a secretary. She always cared for others around her, whatever their needs. She found deep joy in the beauty of God’s creation—whether canoeing quiet waters, working on and enjoying the lake home, tending her garden, or camping under open skies. Above all, Sandy delighted in loving and serving her family, especially through her gift of cooking and hospitality, where her table became a place of warmth, welcome, and togetherness for all who gathered.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband, DeVon; children: Leah (Allen) Schraeder of Ripon, WI, Jeff (Shari) Anderson of Slinger, WI, and Dayna (Chris) Taylor of Arden Hills, MN; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother’s: John (Mary) Madderom of Green Lake, WI, and Robert (Betty) Madderom of Janesville, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Alleen Madderom.
A Memorial Service for Sandy will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11:00AM, at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 777 Harvey Street, in Ripon, with Rev. Paul Ethington officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Inurnment will be held at Spring Branch Cemetery in New Rome, WI at a later date.
