Richard C. Gergits Sr.

Richard C. Gergits Sr., age 73, of Ripon, WI passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Grancare Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fond du Lac, WI. Rich was born on October 1, 1947 in Chicago, IL, the son of Rudy and Marie (Nicka) Gergits.

Rich served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969 during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to AnnaMarie Audia on May 2, 1969 in Chicago, IL. Rich was a Machine Operator for most of his life before retiring. He was a huge Chicago Bears fan and Chicago White Sox fan and enjoyed listening to the Beetles and Classic Rock. Rich had a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He enjoyed goofing around with his kids and grandkids.

Rich is survived by his wife, AnnaMarie; daughter, Elizabeth (Shawn) Clauson of Ripon, WI; 3 sons: Richard Jr. (Theresa) Gergits of Oak Lawn, IL, Michael (Erika) Gergits of Neenah, WI, and James Gergits of CA; 4 grandchildren: Priscilla Clauson, Nicholas, Madison and Dante Gergits; two brothers: Carl (Valerie) Gergits of IL, and Frank (Lupe) Gergits of TN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Funeral Service for Rich will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Divine Passage Funeral Home, 175 N Douglas Street, in Ripon with Father Davies Edassery officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 11:00am until the time of the services. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will be held in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Ripon with Full Military Honors. Divine Passage Funeral Home in Ripon is serving the family during this difficult time.
