Nancy L. Schumacher, age 85, or Markesan, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 3, 2022 at her home. Nancy was born on December 11, 1936 in Lisle, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Hazel (Kolar) Van Osdel. She was united in marriage to Raymond Schumacher on September 2, 1950 in Dundee, IL. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2006.
Nancy was a waitress for many Greek Restaurants. She was proud to be the only waitress serving at the Private Hunting Club in East Dundee, IL for over 8 years. She loved being a foster mother for troubled teenagers because she loved children so much. She enjoyed watching her soap operas. Nancy looked forward to Christmas every year so she can decorate her house with her large collection of Christmas Snow Villages. She used to open her house to the Dundee, IL community every Christmas after church and handed out Pfeffernusse.
Nancy is survived by her sons: Raymond (Karen), Robert, Jerry (Pat), and Steve (Cathie); daughter, Sandy (Bill) Bauer; foster son, Russ (Pat) Foster; grandchildren: Paul, Steven, Aimee, Kristin, Adam, Kelsey, Rick, Selena, Danielle, Brad, Kerry, Lindsey, and Leslie; many great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Wenzel and Susan (Ron) Bierle; brother, Arthur Van Osdel; other relatives and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; sons, William Schumacher, and Jack Schumacher; and foster son, Lyle Mahoney.
