Michael J. Berry, age 72, of Ripon, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Michael was born on November 23, 1948 in Princeton; the son of Clifford and Gladys (Soda) Berry. He was baptized at St. John’s Catholic Church in Princeton and attended Princeton High School. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a proud member of the Ripon Brown-Parfitt American Legion Post 43. Michael worked at Giddings & Lewis (FIVES) in Fond du lac as a machinist. In later years, he was a custodian at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ripon for many years. He enjoyed gambling, and watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Most of all, he loved his family wholeheartedly.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Mandy (Tim Bostwick) Berry of Fond du Lac; son, Matt (Sara) Berry of Green Lake; step daughter, Michelle Davis of Ohio; grandchild, Payton (Jordan) of Ohio; brother, Dana (Pauline) Berry of Ripon; two sisters: Lynne (Keith) Peters of Berlin, and Ona Williams Hunt of Oregon; other relatives and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elaine Lorenz; and former wife, Kathleen A. Berry.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon with Father Leon Martin officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Divine Passage Funeral Home from 5pm-7pm. Interment will be held at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery with full military honors.
