Maureen “Mernie” Ann Barry, age 80, of Ripon, formerly of Green Lake, passed away at her home on Thursday, December 26, 2024. Maureen was born on March 15, 1944 in Milwaukee; the daughter of Claude and Alice (Dailey) Hansen. Mernie was united in marriage to Jackie “Jack” Ball on December 10, 1960 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1974.
Mernie worked for Waukesha County Project Headstart as a cook and van driver for 13 years. When she relocated to Green Lake she worked at both Heritage Wafers and Ripon Foods in Ripon for many years. She also managed the Green Lake Apartments after retiring and drove for Advocap Headstart for many years. She enjoyed cooking and baking, looking through cookbooks, and feeding people.
Mernie is survived by a son, Scott (Idamarie) Ball of Clyman; 2 daughters: Jackie (Fred) Hutchins of Three Lakes, WI, and Danielle Lurvey of Ripon; 8 grandchildren: Ian (Jess) Hutchins, Samantha (Matthew) Kolitz, Nicole Ball, Kristine Ball, Bethany Ball, Amber (Tony) Gilchrist, Crystal Lurvey, and Emma Lurvey; great grandchildren: Kaleb, Scarlett, Callen, Stephen, Brooke, Austin, Hunter, Esther, Grace, Alice, Harrison, Jameson, Miles, Kyle, Erik, Tristan, and Breanna; 2 sisters: Claudette Lesser of Theresa, WI, and Denise (Joe) Soto of Muskego, WI; best friend, Nancy Roseth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Alice Hansen; husband, Jack Ball; daughter, Nikki Ball; son-in-law, Bob Lurvey; granddaughter, Sara Nowak; brothers: Gary and Dean Hansen; sister, Sandy Sandoval; and brothers-in-law: Jack Lesser, Gerry Vanderhoef, and Phil Sandoval.
A Memorial service for Maureen will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at River Shores Church in Berlin. Family and friends may visit at River Shores Church in Berlin from 10:00am until the time of the services. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin, WI at a later date.
