Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Hill

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Hill, age 90, of Green Lake, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014. She was born on January 13, 1924, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Lily (Bennett) Rowley. After the death of her mother, Lily, she was raised from the age of 5 by her mother Maye Rowley. Betty was united in marriage to Hazen Hill on October 30, 1943 at the home of her parents in Ripon. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2004. From 1960 to present, she was the Corporate Secretary/Treasurer for The Rowley Tool Corporation, the Green Lake company that was founded by her father in 1945. She was also a long-time active member and former office holder for the Wisconsin HCE.

She is survived by her 3 sons: Alvin E. Hill of Sleepy Hollow, IL; Byron (Nancy) Hill of Green Lake; and Daniel (Frances) Hill of Green Lake; 6 Grandchildren: Matthew Hill, Kristin (Sanjay Deshpande) Hill, Jacob Hill, Brita (Daniel) Dietzel, Anthony Hill, and Benjamin (Sarah Bartlett) Hill; and her 11 great grandchildren: Nicki, David, Maya, Eva, Hazen, Caleb, Samuel, Joseph, Julia, Angel Ellianna and Jackson. She is preceded in death by her father Arthur, mother Lily and mother Maye, her husband Hazen, sister Maisey Krutsch; 2 brothers: John "Jack" Rowley and James Rowley; and daughter-in-law Karen Hill.

A Graveside Committal for Betty will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Friends and family are invited to attend. Memorial donations may be made to the Green Lake Area Animal Shelter.
