Marie R. (Rivers) Docter

Marie R. Docter, age 81, of Brandon, went to the Lord on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the Christian Homestead in Waupun. Marie was born on December 16, 1938 in Ripon, the daughter of Alex and Mary (Bartol) Rivers. She graduated from Ripon High School and then attending college becoming a Nurse. On August 30, 1958, she was united in marriage to James Docter at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. She worked for Parkview Nursing Home in Ripon for many years and was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. She enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting, quilt making and sewing.

Marie is survived by her husband, James; 7 children: Dennis (Wanda) Docter of Markesan; Richard (Lisa) Docter of Phoenix, AZ; Michael (Linda) Docter of Brandon; John (Sarah) Docter of North Fond du Lac; Susan (Randy) Zabel of Brandon; Tina (Randy) Halberg of Virginia Beach, NC; and Donna Docter of Milwaukee; 8 grandchildren; a great grandson; other relatives and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers: Eugene Rivers and Al Rivers.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with Father Robert Fictum officiating. There will be no visitation at the church due to the pandemic. Masks are required in church. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Ripon following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
