Laurel H. Gehrig

Laurel H. Gehrig, age 92, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Prairie Place in Ripon. Laurel was born on October 31, 1923 in Racine, WI, the daughter of Frank and Ida (Belanger) Newton. She was united in marriage to Verne Gehrig on September 13, 1947 in Sturtevant, WI. He preceded her in death in October 1985.

Laurel is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Bruce) DeBoer of Ripon; one grandson, Benjamin (Melinda) DeBoer of Appleton; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Margaret of Appleton; one sister, Valerie Keyes of FL.; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Verne; two brothers: Francis and Gregory Newton; and two sisters: Faythe Klinkhammer and Mary Henes.
