Josephine "Jody" Kirby

Josephine “Jody” Kirby, age 88, of Oshkosh formerly of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Bella Vista in Oshkosh, WI with family by her side. Jody was born on April 5, 1934 in Bayonne, NJ; the daughter of Ignatius and Josephine (Rozniak) Waszak. She graduated from high school in Brooklyn, NY and attended Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ. She moved to Wisconsin from Brooklyn, NY on Mother’s Day 1995 so that she could be close to her family.

Jody was a devout Catholic. Bible study and church were a big part of her life. She made every holiday special for her family. Jody adored her grandchildren and encouraged their education. She is known in the family to make the best waffle batter. Her favorite greeting was “Shalom”. And upon parting, she offered “Adios”….. “Go with God”. She loved Oriental furniture and elegant Oriental collectables.   

Jody is survived by her previous husband, George Kirby of Oshkosh; son, Michael Kirby of Oshkosh; Karen (Randal) McQuown of Green Lake; 5 grandchildren: Matthew Kirby, Nathaniel Kirby, Misty McQuown, Marleigh McQuown, and Levon McQuown; 6 great grandchildren including special relationships with: Katannah Dadas, Kadence Quimby, and Layla Toddish; sister, Janus Ammon Ra; other relatives and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Dolores Mustillo.

The wishes of Jody are to be cremated with Interment to be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Divine Passage Funeral Home is serving the family during this difficult time. Divinepassagefunerals.com
