Joseph A. Heiling

Joseph A. Heiling, age 36, of Princeton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Joe was born on October 25, 1988, in Berlin, WI; the son of Andrew Heiling and Donna Strook. Joe attended and graduated from Laconia High School, Class of 2007.

Joe worked with concrete as a construction worker. He loved spending time with his kids wrestling, playing and being silly. He loved to fish and fish and fish and fish. He enjoyed spending time in the woods wandering, mushroom hunting and hiking. Joe spent much of his childhood happily at Fish Lake and Buffalo Lake with his parents and grandparents. In high school Joe enjoyed spending time with his friends, especially his best friend Eric Groth, they were inseparable. Riding his 3-wheeler, having bonfires and he loved playing football. It was said that when Joe made a hit, you could feel it from the top row of the stands. He also loved to watch Alaska and various off-the-grid television shows, learning how to build off the land and survive in the wilderness.

Joe is survived by his parents: Andrew Heiling of Neshkoro and Donna Strook of Ripon; son, Jack Lyle Heiling; stepson Charlie Wiegand; significant other, Katherine Kujak of Oshkosh; sister, Danielle Heiling of Princeton; brother, Kendall Strook of Oakfield; Grandmother Mary (Lyle) Heiling of Montello; numerous cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Lyle Heiling; and grandparents, Rodney (“Bunny”) Bartholomew.
