Jane Homburg

Jane Homburg - known affectionately as JB to her friends - passed away peacefully in the morning hours of January 18th, 2026.  Born Jane Abbott Boardman on August 10, 1937, to Newell Stephen Boardman and Maryan Hosford Boardman, Jane was originally expected to follow a carefully planned path, one that included becoming a debutante and mirroring her mother’s life.

Jane, however, had other ideas.  From an early age, JB made it clear she would blaze her own trail. With the encouragement of family in Florida, friendships formed at Kemper Hall in Kenosha, and the loving mischief of uncles who proudly called her “Junior” (much to her mother’s dismay), she did exactly that.

Her spunky attitude, spicy outlook on life, and the ability to always have a good story for you, especially if it included how two husbands and three children gave her premature gray hair, made her special.  There are so many more stories but confining them to this space would be a disservice.  Simply put, she loved deeply and had a tremendous influence on the lives she touched.

She is survived by her children: Stephen (Pamela) Homburg, Thom (Bobbie) Homburg, and Dawne (Kraig) Ware; Grandchildren Jaime (Jeff) Karls, Tia (Davis) Thuecks, and Micah Waters, plus; Great-Grandchildren Ellie (Ethan) Hull, Gage Klapperich, and Allie, Ashton, and Liam Thuecks.  She also leaves behind an abundance of “adopted” family members and dear friends – far too many to list, but each cherished.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Theda Care in Berlin, Generations Hospice, and Whispering Pines in Ripon for their care and support for Jane.
