Ellen Jane Drisner, age 86, of Green Lake, WI and Palm City, FL went to her heavenly home peacefully on Christmas Day 2025 in Green Lake, WI with her family by her side. Ellen was born on September 21, 1939, in Racine, WI; the daughter of George and Sue (Tuinstra) Johnson. She graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine, WI, Class of 1957. Ellen married Robert Drisner, the love of her life, on May 9, 1959, in Racine, WI. They raised their children in Menomonee Falls, WI where they lived for 35 years. For the past 30 years they split their time between Green Lake and Palm City.
Ellen was a member of Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, WI and she volunteered there for many years in the Tape Ministry. She enjoyed playing golf in the Women’s Golf League at Harbour Ridge in Florida and at Lawsonia Golf Course in Green Lake. She was known for always having an endless supply of homemade chocolate chip cookies. Ellen was an accomplished seamstress and made both of her daughters’ wedding dresses. She enjoyed boating on Green Lake, Bible study, playing Mahjong and Solitaire, and was a Sudoku expert. More than anything, Ellen loved being a grandma – whether it was attending their sports games, Grandparents’ Day at school, or making memories with them in Green Lake and Florida.
Ellen loved to travel with Bob and together they visited 57 countries. The highlights of their travels were the four adventurous trips taken with all their kids and grandkids. Ellen also took several girls trips with her daughters and granddaughters.
Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Bob; children: Sheryl (Greg) Mueller of Green Lake, WI, Susan (Scott) Gaertig of De Pere, WI, Steven Drisner of Palm City, FL; grandchildren: Abigail (Matthew) Adamczyk, Anna (Collin) Cook, Allison Mueller, Robert Gaertig, Bethany Gaertig, and Jacob Mueller; great grandchildren: Kelvin and Layla Adamczyk, and Henry Cook; brother, Richard (Judy) Johnson of Green Bay; dear friends: Sue Stover, Sue Rieckhoff, Dot Coblentz, and Kim DelMonico; other relatives and many treasured friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Marilynn Wright and brother-in-law, Gene Wright; and sister-in-law, Lynne Johnson.
A Celebration of Ellen’s Life will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Divine Passage Funeral Home, 175 N Douglas Street, Ripon with Pastor Kyle Witek officiating.
