Ellan L. Nitz

Ellan L. Nitz, age 73, of Ripon, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 27, 2021 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with her family by her side. Ellan was born on November 30, 1947 in Ripon, WI the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Hoffman) Stewart. She graduated from Ripon High School, Class of 1966. On May 4, 1968, Ellan was united in marriage to David Nitz. David preceded her in death on December 3, 2018 after 50 years of marriage.

Ellan worked various job but most know her as a cashier at Save A Lot in Ripon or as the “lunch lady” for the Ripon schools. She is remembered for always saying “It’s so cute!” to her family. She loved cats, reading, knitting baby blankets, and shopping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her granddaughters.

Ellan is survived by her son, Jason (Carrie) Nitz of Ripon; two daughters: Danielle (Doug) Bittelman of Westfield, and Nicole Nitz of Ripon; grandchildren: Kristal Menard, and Rorie Nitz; step grandchildren: Jasmine Hoppe, Ryan and Adam Bittelman; other relatives and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, David; and brother, Arthur Stewart.

A Memorial service for Ellan will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Divine Passage Funeral Home in Ripon with Rev. William Whalen officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Divine Passage Funeral Home from 10:00am until the time of the services. Interment for David and Ellan will be held after the service at Loper Cemetery with Full Military Honors for David.
