Deborah J. Carew, age 72, of Ripon, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Deb was born on December 31, 1952 in Sparta, WI; the daughter of William and LaVina (Vieth) Ziegler. She attended and graduated from Ripon High School, Class of 1971. She was united in marriage to Dennis Washkoviak and to David Carew.
Deb was an Administrator for Ripon Memorial Hospital, and Berlin Hospital. She was a Women’s Coordinator at Green Lake County Healthcare Services, and retired from Alliance Laundry Systems as a Sales Administrator. She was a member of Federated Church of Green Lake. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, listening to concerts, and going to Vines and Rushes with her besties. She enjoyed reading, shopping, floating in the pool, cooking her favorite seafood lasagna for her grandchildren, and baking Raspberry pies.
Deb is survived by her sister, Jean (Thomas) Reinsch of Ripon; 2 brothers: Dennis (Ida) Ziegler of Redgranite, and Edward (Stacy) Ziegler of Ripon; sister-in-law, Suzie Ziegler of Kuna, Idaho; daughter-in-law, Krissy (Brian Knope) Washkoviak; 2 grandchildren: Claire (fiancée Collin Schneider) Washkoviak, and Chase Washkoviak; special friends: Joan Siever, Chari Draeger, Pam Stecker, Rachel Gertler, Patti Schrader, and Vickie Page; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her precious son, Jesse Washkoviak; and brother, Robert Ziegler.
Per the wishes of Deb, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Deb’s life will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm at N9074 County Road FF, Ripon, WI 54971 (Krissy Washkoviak’s home). Divine Passage Funeral Home in Ripon is proudly serving the family. Divinepassagefunerals.com
