David "Doc" Skiba, age 70, of Markesan, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Ripon Medical Center. David was born on September 19, 1949 in Detroit, MI, the son of Stephen and Agnes (Peplinski) Skiba. He worked at Zignego Ready Mix for many years before retiring.
He was known as "Doc" by most. Doc loved riding Harley's, working on cars, fishing and enjoyed the outdoors. He found peace while living up north and the joy in small things, like bird watching. Doc used to own a biker bar on the south side of Milwaukee and enjoyed having an annual barbecue at his house. While he was not your typical family man, he loved all of his daughters and grandchildren.
Doc is survived by his daughters: Lisa (Kevin) Rave, Michelle (Mark) Sobon, Suzanne (Tom) Straub, Jessica (Sergio) Jacobson, Brittany Skiba and Lisa Wilkerson; siblings: Sue (Tony) Smyczek, Peter (Renee), Mary Lofy, and Bob (Shelly); many grandchildren, a great grandson and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers; Tom (Helen) and John (Pat).
Doc was not the kind of guy who would want a formal service. Rather, he'd want us to go to our local watering hole and have one in his honor. So the next time you raise a glass, cheers to Doc, who is now riding the big bike in the sky. His daughters would like to thank the staff at Whispering Pines in Ripon and a very special thank you to Terry and Pam Klapper
for their love and assistance throughout the last few years, as well as Davey Evans and Denise Williams.
Per the wishes of the family, cremation will take place with no services. Divine Passage Funeral Home in Ripon is proudly serving the Skiba family during this difficult time. Divinepassagefunerals.com
