David W. Nitz

David W. Nitz, age 73, of Ripon, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, WI. David was born on October 14, 1945 in Markesan, WI the son of Walter and Elizabeth (Disterhaft) Nitz. He attended Markesan high school; and then served his country in the US National Guard. He was united in marriage to Ellan Stewart 50 years ago on May 4, 1968.

David worked at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac as a press operator for over 45 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, lawn care, and spending time with his friends. He loved his family and granddaughters; an all-around great man.

David is survived by his wife, Ellan of Ripon; son, Jason (Carrie) Nitz of Ripon; two daughters: Danielle (special friend Doug Bittelman) Nitz of Westfield and Nicole Nitz of Ripon; two granddaughters: Kristal Menard and Rorie Nitz; step granddaughter, Jasmine Hoppe; three sisters: Yvonne Vanorum of Oshkosh, Carol (Milt) Otto of Green Lake, and Linda Dahlke of Ripon; other relatives and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Weise.

A Celebration of Life for David will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Divine Passage Funeral Home, 175 N Douglas Street in Ripon with Reverend William Whalen officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the Celebration of Life service.
