Damien A. Vander Velden

Damien Vander Velden, age 41, of Ripon, passed away unexpectedly on January 29, 2026 in Sun Prairie, WI.

Damien was born on April 27, 1984, in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Tracey Vander Velden and Nancy Nichols. He was a 2004 graduate of Cambria High School and worked as a cook for many years. Damien found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing and the peace he found on the water. A devoted sports fan, he spent many seasons cheering for the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Wisconsin Badgers. Above all, he loved spending time with his son, Tristin, and took pride in "chefing up" his favorite French toast for him. Taken far too soon, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Damien is survived by his mother, Nancy; his son, Tristin Vander Velden; his fur-babies, Gerard, Meekos, and Buster; and many aunts, uncles, relatives, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, and his sister, Aliecia.

The family extends a special thank you to his friend, James Hartl, for his thoughtfulness and generosity through the years.
