Charles Pommering, age 85, of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Fountainview Care Center in Ripon. Charles was born on April 19, 1930, the son of Louis and Anna (Fude) Pommering. He was united in marriage to his loving wife, Rose Mary Zwolski on July 4, 1971 in Waukau, WI. She then preceded him in death on July 30, 2010 after 40 years of marriage.
Charles was a farmer his entire life. He loved gardening and spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He enjoyed visiting friends and family and telling stories. He always made people smile and laugh with lots of tall tales, goofy phrases and opinions. He was a very strong and stubborn man but he grew on you quickly and was a hard guy to not get along with.
Charles is survived by his two daughters: Carla (Pat) Pommering Mullowney of Ripon, and Kathryn (Jack III) Patterson of Milwaukee; 5 grandchildren: Kelisha Pommering, Preston Mullowney, Alyssa Mullowney, Jack Patterson IV, and Kathleen Patterson; 1 great grandchild, Aiden Pommering; two sisters: Arlene Roskos and Lorraine Lee, both of Ripon; other relatives and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose Mary; brother, Lowell Pommering; and nephew, John Pommering.
Burial for Charles will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Bethel Reeds Corners Cemetery in the Township of Metomen.
