Betty Lou Bump passed into eternal peace on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. She was surrounded by her family as she slipped into heaven at Prairie Place in Ripon, Wisconsin. She was born in Fond du Lac in 1930 and lovingly raised by Gladys and Frank Pierce.
The photo was taken on her last visit to Lakeside Park in 2021 where she climbed to the top of the lighthouse one last time, at 91 years young.
Betty loved hummingbirds, playing cards, chocolates, Dr. Quinn tv, and Andy Williams songs. She also loved being a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader in Chicago where she raised her 5 daughters: Sandra Lee, Carolyn Sue, Rita Jean, Gail Ann, and Diane Lynn. After returning to Wisconsin Betty worked at Giddings & Lewis, Merc Marine, Holiday Auto, and went on to become an entrepreneur by forming her own Cleaning Business.
Betty leaves behind 5 daughters, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; she will be missed by many generations. She requested cremation and her family will honor her wishes with a private family memorial at a future date.
