Bernice D. Ziebell, age 88, of Ripon, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Barrett House in Markesan. Bernice was born on February 14, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI; the daughter of Karl and Olga (Neumann) Schnick. She was united in marriage to Rev. Raymond Ziebell on June 17, 1967 at Atonement Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI.
Before being married, Bernice was a 13-year employee at Oster in Milwaukee and was the secretary to the director of advertising and sales promotion. After marriage she became the faithful and devoted wife of a pastor in the parish ministry and was a volunteer church secretary for 36 years. She was always ready to help and serve in the church in many and various ways. Upon retirement, Ray told her, “Since you now have health problems my dear devoted partner, it’s time to let others take over. Enjoy your retirement.” During her lifetime, she enjoyed church functions, family get togethers, knitting, gardening, playing Pennies from heaven (a form of canasta), and putting puzzles together.
Bernice is survived by her husband, Raymond; son, Carl (Rachel) Ziebell; granddaughter, Sarah Ziebell; twin sister, Betty Hoeppner; other relatives and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers: Willie and Arthur Schnick; and 2 sisters: Clara and Hilda Schnick.
A Funeral service for Bernice will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Mt Zion Evangelical Church in Ripon with Rev. Michael Sheppard officiating.
