Aloysius P. Hermes, age 76, of Green Lake, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Al was born on February 4, 1947 in Appleton; the son of Aloysius and Mary Ann (Hinkens) Hermes. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1966, stationed in Germany and England during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged in 1972 as Buck Sergeant. Al was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Bergmann on April 7, 1979 in Appleton. She preceded him in death on April 16, 2015. He was a member of the Lions Club in Green Lake/ Princeton, VFW in Berlin, and Immanuel Methodist Church in Ripon. He retired from Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon and always enjoyed helping people and animals.
Al is survived by his sister, Sue (Phil) Siewert of Appleton; nieces, nephew, and dear friends: Larry and Mary Sedarski, Lee and Betty Rank, Ray and Victoria Sheldon, Joyce and Aaron Anderson, and Jeff and Michelle Hermes. He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Barbara.
Per the wishes of Al, cremation has taken place. A Time of Remembrance will be held on April 25, 2024 at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon at 11:30am. Interment will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon with Full Military Honors at 11:00am. Divine Passage Funeral Home in Ripon is serving the family. Divinepassagefunerals.com
