Olimpia Reyes

Olimpia "La Doña" Reyes, age 88, of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Crossroads Care Center in Fond du Lac with her family by her side. Olimpia was born on April 21, 1930 in El Progresso Yoro, Honduras, the daughter of Calixto and Bacilia (Reyes) Contreras. Olimpia immigrated to the USA in 1989 and started working at the local canning factory until she retired in 1999. She became a US Citizen in 2007. Olimpia loved to crochet and sew. She enjoyed being active in housework, especially doing laundry by hand on her scrub board.

Olimpia is survived by her daughter, Maria Rivera of Ripon; sons: Enrique (Ingrid) Rivera of San Pedro Sula, Honduras; and Adennis (Alejandra) Rivera of Ripon; grandchildren: Isis Mondragon of Ripon; Wendy Ramirez of Fond du Lac; Nathaly Rivera of Ripon; Camila Rivera of Ripon; Eduardo Mejia of Fond du Lac; Kike and Ricardo Rivera of San Pedro Sula, Honduras; and Gabriela Madani of Vancouver, Canada; great grandchildren: Roberto, Victor and Gabriel Mondragon of Ripon; Cristina Schwabe and Sofia Ramirez of Fond du Lac; Meylin and Isacc Mejia of Fond du Lac; and Darien Madani of Vancouver, Canada; other relatives and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; and life partner of 30 years, Hector Rivera.

Visitation will be held from 10:00AM to 11:00AM on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Divine Passage Funeral Home, 175 N Douglas Street, Ripon.
